Hermès 90x90cm twill silk scarf "La Vie au Grand Nord" (Life in the Great North) designed by Aline Honoré and released in 2004. This design transports us to the Arctic for a tribute to the Inuit people, with a magnificent representation of the local fauna: polar bears, caribou, whales... Bordeaux and vivid red colors.
Text from Hermès booklets:
"In the icy vastness of the ice floe, light transforms every being and every object into a magical and warm apparition. Everything that exists has a soul, and the birch, a sacred tree, connects man to the cosmos. The lives of the Inuit and Yupik people depend on animals. Those they hunt and fish and those who help them in these tasks occupy the space of this square, just like these men and women with open and smiling faces. Every object is of infinite poetry, there is the mask of the spirit and the moon that allows animal spirits to join the human world, or the dance fan made of goose and swan feathers."
This scarf is in excellent condition: A very beautiful, plump rolled hem, close to new, just a small white mark detailed in the last photo. Composition tag present.
