Classic 90 x 90 cm twill silk square titled "Perles du Kenya". Designed by Dimitri Rybaltchenko and issued only in 1997, here in red and ivory colors.
This square depicts the Samburu people of northern Kenya, cousins of the Maasai. Dimitri Rybaltchenko portrays them adorned with their traditional ornaments: superimposed multicolored bead necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. More than just jewelry, these ornaments constitute a true code: they indicate the age and place of each individual within the community.
The condition of this scarf is excellent: plump rolled hems, excellent overall condition, there is only one small mark visible in the 2nd photo to the left of the face.
Sold with an Hermès scarf box and its bolduc ribbon.
