90 x 90 cm twill silk square titled "The Three Musketeers", in a red colorway.
This Hermès scarf has a unique design history: the illustrations were initially drawn by Philippe Ledoux, whose death in 1975 interrupted the work. His nephew, Vladimir Rybaltchenko, took over and completed the design. The scarf has never been reissued, which makes it doubly rare.
The motif depicts Athos, Porthos, Aramis, and d'Artagnan in 17th-century musketeer attire, with swords, capes, and feathered hats, in a deep black colorway enhanced with yellow and ivory. The richness of detail in this piece is remarkable; new elements are discovered with each glance.
This scarf is in new condition: it has never been worn, has its composition label, the silk is crisp. However, I regret a very small pulled thread, probably due to storage (last photo). It is an exceptional piece in this condition.
Sold with an Hermès scarf box and its bolduc.
