Hermès silk twill carre (scarf) in the classic 90 x 90 cm size, "Air France". Designed by Philippe Ledoux in 1962 and sold exclusively on board Air France flights.
Ledoux placed the airline's first logo, called Hippocampe or more familiarly "the shrimp," in the colors of the French flag: blue, white, and red. As it was only distributed to Air France passengers, the exclusive and rare dimension of this scarf generates great interest. It is one of the rare Hermès carres commissioned by an external brand, making it a doubly collectible piece, at the crossroads of the history of the Hermès house and the history of French aviation.
Its condition is excellent: despite its age, it has no apparent defects and still has its composition tag.
Sold with the Hermès carre box and its bolduc (ribbon).
