Sublime Hermès silk twill scarf, classic size 90cm by 90cm, titled "Ballade de Heian" designed by Natsuno Hidaka and issued in 2009. The motif represents the pillars of Japanese culture during the Heian era (794-1185), developed notably through its diplomatic break with China, a golden age of Japanese history. Hidaka depicts aristocratic figures in traditional costumes, rich flora and fauna drawn with restraint, and of course the resplendent Mount Fuji in the Japanese style of ancient prints. This was the particularity of Japanese culture; rather than magnifying the excesses of grandiose scenes as in Europe, artists preferred to remain reserved and leave room for empty spaces. The color scheme features a magnificent purple border, a fuchsia background, and orange, blue, and green details.
